IOwnMyData Inc is committed to protecting your privacy. We have designed the node product to operate with no personal data collection at all. Period. This policy describes the types of information that are required to provide you with your node and its various features (our Service).
1. What information is used and why?
a) Tokenized email address: You are asked to choose a tokenized email identifier to use online or offline, so that you will never need to expose your personal email anywhere. There are a limited number of tokenized email identifiers and once you choose yours, our system records this identifier as being utilised - to ensure that no one else can create the same identifier and to direct the messages sent to your chosen identifier. We do not collect or store any identifiable details of your node or the device that is linked to your tokenized identifier, and we have no way of knowing which tokenized identifier belongs to you.
b) Email and text messages: When you engage with businesses, they may send messages to your tokenized identifier. Our servers temporarily hold these messages for you so that your node is able to retrieve these messages and transfer them to your device. We do not know which node a message belongs to, and we do have any way of sending these messages to your device. Any text messages sent to your tokenized phone number will also be sent to your node directly through your device. We have no way of accessing this information.
c) Aggregated Analytics: We use aggregated data about the manner and frequency with which nodes are being used in order to measure, assess and improve our Service. We do not link this information to your tokenised email identifier, your node or your device, so we have no way of tracing this information back to you.
d) Miscellaneous: If you email us as set forth at the end of this policy, we will collect your email address and any information you provide within your email message to us. We do not collect any details that you choose to store in your node (including your address, phone number, passwords, order details, payment information or power level). When this information is sent to your node it is collected directly by your device. When engaging with a business, you have a choice of sending information directly between the node and the business. We have no way of accessing this information.
2. How can you access, modify and delete this information?
If you delete your tokenized email identifier, it will be deleted from our records and cannot be used again. Please note that uninstalling the node from your phone will not automatically delete your tokenized email identifier, and you will have to specifically request to delete it before uninstalling the node.
The emails sent to your tokenized email identifier are stored only on your device, and you are free to delete them at any time. We do not store this information once it has been accessed by you on your device.
3. Is this information shared? We can’t share any personally identifiable data, since we do not collect any. Period.
We typically do not share any of the de-identified and aggregated information that we use (listed above) with third parties. We reserve the right to use this data without restriction to improve our services.
We may also disclose this de-identified information:
- To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.
- To enforce or apply our Terms of Service.
- If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of our company, our users, or others.
At this time, you can only have one active tokenized email identifier at a time, and you have access to it at all times through your node. You may, at any time, request to delete your tokenized email identifier and can create a new identifier after a period of 30 days.
